Glamping Site Set to Open on Edge of the Brecon Beacons

Wood-fired hot tubs, stellar night skies and a working farm – that’s just some of the attractions at Wigwam® Holidays Brecon, set to open Friday 4th May 2018

This family-run concern gives visitors a flavour of farming life while staying in one of six Running Water Deluxe Wigwam® Cabins, two of which have wood fired hot tubs.

The newest addition to the Wigwam® Holidays Network, this new site is located on the border of the Brecon Beacons National Park and is perfect for stargazing as the park has been awarded the coveted and rare Dark Sky status.

Site co-owner Rebecca Watkins said: “Our family farm includes 100 acres of farm land with spectacular views, and we’re based a short distance from the town of Brecon.

“Visitors can truly immerse themselves in our farming tradition, as our herd of 80 cattle and flock of 500 sheep are nearby.

“Away from our farm, we are blessed with fabulous places to visit such as the Brecon Beacons, including Pen Y Fan (the highest point in Southern Britain at over 2,900 feet). Mountain biking, hiking, water sports and even hand-gliding are well catered for, while for those who enjoy cultural events, the Brecon Jazz Festival, the Royal Welsh Show and the Hay Festival are just a few highlights.

“Families with young children will find our site is one they’ll want to return to time and again as there are a number of attractions close by.”

Wigwam® Holidays Brecon will open for most of the year except December (although bookings accepted for New Year’s Eve). Dogs are also permitted in three of the Wigwam® Cabins. Each en-suite cabin also has an outdoor campfire and BBQ facilities while inside each unit includes a small kitchen, fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle, TV/DVD, crockery and comfy mattresses. Extra items can be ordered including bedding and towels.
