How this top-rated Gloucestershire family attraction will be even better this summer

Cattle Country Adventure Park, which has an average TripAdvisor rating of 4.5 out of 5, is investing for the future.

It's one of the most popular places for families to hang out in Gloucestershire - and it's set to be even better this summer.

Cattle Country Adventure Park, in Berkeley, is looking ahead after winning its third Certificate of Excellence in a row from TripAdvisor. And even though we are in the middle of winter, thoughts at the attraction are turning to the spring and summer after a successful Christmas.

General Manager Stuart Burnell said: “We are part-way through an ambitious investment programme to expand the restaurant and improve visitor facilities. The new restaurant should be ready in time for the summer and will also provide a number of additional jobs locally.

"2018 was our best year ever with visitors travelling from as far as Cornwall to see the calves, lambs and piglets as well as the highly popular unicorns." With the approach of spring, the venue will be running pony riding weekends starting on Saturday, January 26 and continuing until March.

The adventure farm park opened in the early 1990s with just an indoor play barn on a working farm, but has massively expanded in the past two decades. It features a Maize Maze in the summer as well as an expanded wooden fort, a boating lake, slides, soft-play, as well as animal-based activities. A splash pool is popular, as are the trampolines, slides and swings.

And there has been visits in the past from Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol as well as special events throughout the year. Stuart said: “We aim to keep children busy from 10am until 4pm with a full range of all-weather activities.

"We also encourage an understanding of what farms do, covering basic animal husbandry, rare breeds, agriculture– and also look at living a healthy lifestyle and the importance of enjoying the open air.”

Marti Toth, a Cheltenham mum of two young girls, said she is is an enthusiastic visitor to the attraction. She said: "Cattle Country is a real paradise for families with children. We have always loved going there and we look forward to seeing all these exciting improvements!"
