Hako’s winning formula at Silverstone.

Happy birthday Hako. And what a birthday it was, celebrating 40 years in the UK. And what a better way to celebrate than to have a party with top customers, suppliers and guests.

Hako UK, which is based in Crick, Northamptonshire, launched in the UK back in 1979 but the global Hako story started six decades before when German inventor, Hans Koch created the world’s first small mechanical cultivator.

Things have moved on a pace over the last 40 years with Hako now operating in more than 60 countries. The Hako range includes scrubber driers, indoor sweepers, multi-functional street cleansing sweepers and an array of commercial cleaning equipment. From a compact wet and dry vacuum cleaner, up to a six tonne Citymaster 2200 road sweeper.

“Things have moved on a pace since then and the Hako line up is staggering and a defining factor of the business. Included in our range are 12 indoor scrubber/drier variants, ten indoor sweepers, an array of commercial equipment and our four multi-functional street cleaning Citymaster Sweepers,” said Sylvie.

Staged at Formula One circuit Silverstone, Hako users from throughout the country joined in the festivities which included equipment demonstrations, new launches, high level seminars and some adrenalin-fuelled laps around the track.

And to cap it all off there was a birthday dinner for some of Hako’s VIP guests. Among the 100 or so invited guests were representatives from Tesco, BT, The Trafford Centre, York University, Briggs Equipment UK, the NIC Group, City of London Corporation and DPD to name but a few.

“The equipment demonstrations were particularly valuable and I think many customers had not realised the broad range of equipment we have. It was fantastic, not only to be able to showcase it, but also to carry out live demonstrations”, said Sylvie Giangolini, Managing Director Hako Machines UK.

The event filled day was followed by a gala dinner at Whittlebury Hall, which proved to be a first class networking event for all those who attended.

Andy Wilson, a manager at international parcel delivery company DPD said. “Hako has an amazing range of equipment and it is Rolls Royce stuff. I would recommend it to anyone. But it’s not just about the equipment, it is about the whole package. I would say that when it comes to aftersales support Hako really is second to none”.
