Charity gives UK struggling families a vital break

The traditional way of helping charities is to donate money, but another huge way to help the Family Holiday Association is by donating unused stock, such as short breaks and stays at holiday parks.

Rather than sitting unused, this is a wonderful gift to give struggling families that would otherwise not get a break from their terrible situations at home. By donating unused stock at little cost to you, you can enrich families lives forever. The majority of breaks we provide involve short trips to the British seaside. But we also enable families to go on days out, either by themselves or as part of an organised group.

All the families we help are referred by someone already working with them in a supporting role. This referral network includes teachers, health visitors, social workers and other charities such as Barnado’s and Shelter. By working with referrers, we can be sure that we’re able to help the families who will benefit the most.

For many of the children, a seaside break offers the chance to paddle in the sea, build a sandcastle or fly a kite for the very first time. The joy of simply seeing other people smile can lift them out of their everyday cares and worries, and enrich their lives forever. We are always looking for new partners to donate a break – as accommodation, transport or attraction tickets, which we can use to help our families.

Over one hundred companies and organisations in the travel and tourism industry already partner with us to offer breaks and days out. And with over 40 years’ experience, your donated product can be matched to children, parents and carers who will benefit most.
