Who Are the Equestrian Index?

Watsons Directories Ltd, which started trading in 2012, was based on the concept of providing accurate, accessible information about product and service providers to all aspects of the equestrian sector. This took the form in the Equestrian Index.

With over 50 years combined experience in the equestrian sector, the Watsons team recognise the importance of business support at every level. The team will be on hand at the Farm Innovation Show (stand FR870) to offer in depth, industry specific knowledge to businesses looking for information relating to the equestrian sector. They’ll also be able to provide a point of contact to equestrian businesses wishing to diversify away from their main revenue stream, or investigating their potential to do so.

Leading the field since 2012, The Equestrian Index search facility provides up-to-the-minute information on over 14,000 equestrian product and service providers. Their aim? To save rural businesses valuable time and money by making available much of the data diversifying businesses need to succeed.

The Equestrian Index team are dedicated and passionate about increasing the viability of projects within the rural sector, and have supported numerous businesses through industry consultations on a wide range of projects. These include highly targeted geographical contacts, product development, route to market, specialist research projects to identify market sectors, and strategic digital marketing planning and implementation.

In 2018 Watsons acquired an equestrian property web portal. This operates much as the major web property portals such as Rightmove, but lists only equestrian properties. Once again the traffic is dedicated, comprising almost exclusively people seeking to buy equestrian properties, or to locate an agent who can be effective in selling such properties.

The property website has undergone significant development, and was re-launched in August 2019. The business is delighted to announce that active recruitment of member agents is now underway in order to offer better national coverage. It now also supports a services section of businesses relevant to the equestrian property market generally, giving them an excellent opportunity to present themselves to a new audience.
