Who Are Anesco?

Anesco, based in Reading, is one of the country’s leading renewables developers, and has been working with farmers and landowners for almost a decade. The company has a solar farm portfolio that exceeds 100 sites, and is the UK market leader for energy storage, while its operations and maintenance arm currently looks after more than 22,000 renewable assets.

Benefits of a Solar Farm

Developing a solar farm, or hybrid solar and battery storage site, on suitable land or rooftops can provide many financial advantages for landowners, and is a tried-and-tested route to additional revenue streams and energy savings. There are many ways a landowner might benefit:

Leasing

There is the option to lease the land for a guaranteed long-term income. Anesco offers competitive rental payments, which are also RPI linked. Alternatively, they also provide landowners with the ability to either fully fund or part own their project, to maximise the financial returns received.

Suitable for Traditional Farms

Farm buildings used for dairy, cold storage, grain drying and housing poultry, are highly suited to solar panels, as they typically have large roof spaces and a high demand for electricity. By using clean energy generated onsite, utility bills can be reduced, with the savings further enhanced by the use of a battery storage unit.

Hear From Anesco’s Commercial Director About Solar Battery Storage...

Lily Coles, commercial director at Anesco, explains:

“It is a challenging time for many farmers right now, and diversification of this type – which can provide a guaranteed, long term income – is something we know many are keen to explore. The fact solar panels can be installed on the ground or onto rooftops, are silent to run, require little maintenance, and that the land can continue to be used for grazing sheep and other small livestock, makes them very appealing.”

“At Anesco, we make the whole process very easy. We have a strong track record behind us, and offer a complete turnkey solution, from the development and installation through to long-term maintenance. We are also proud to be best in class when it comes to biodiversity and community engagement.

We not only create flourishing habitats on solar farms in accordance with planning rules, but go far beyond that. We maximise the positive impact they have for local wildlife and species that are most under threat, involving the local community in the process.

“We’d urge any landowners who are keen to find out more about how they might benefit, to get in touch, or drop by and see us at the show.”
