Holiday Park World Awards

This month seems to be the month for holiday park world awards, as five amazing venues have been commended for their exceptional work.

Firstly, Deeside Holiday Park, which was savaged by Storm Frank in 2015, has now won the Best Holiday Park award at the Scottish Outdoor Leisure Awards 2019! Wood Leisure have owned the park for 10 years, and even restored it to its former glory after Frank hit. Clearly their £3 million investment, after the immense flood damage, worked wonders.

Abergele’s Ty Gwyn Holiday Park, a Parkdean Resort, has won the 2019 David Bellamy Silver Conservation Award. The park, which is surrounded by some of Wales’ most beautiful areas, has recently started using solar energy, and is constantly making changes to support the natural world. So the award, named after the environmentalist, botanist, author and broadcaster, David Bellamy, was certainly well deserved.

Along this avenue, The Orchards Holiday Village in St Osyth, part of Haven’s collection of resorts, has been awarded the Green World Awards! This has marked them as one of the eco-friendliest holiday parks out there, so following their example could lead to great things.

What’s more, the Peak District, amongst a number of other brilliant areas, is up for the Best Rural Location in the National Staycation Awards 2019. Celebrating the companies who ignite visitors’ imaginations year-in-year-out, we’re sure the winner will be very worthy.

Finally, Northumberland’s Beadland Towers hotel has been given the accolade of being one of the best in the country! After a £3 million renovation, their boutique-style interior, idyllic beach location, and pet-friendly atmosphere make them a deserving competitor.

A Charitable Cause

Everyone needs a week or two off every now and again, which is why most Holiday parks make year-round profits. That’s why it’s so nice to see holiday parks putting this money and their name to good causes.

Holgates Holiday Park, a family run venue in Silverdale, have put their local prestige to a fantastic cause! Raising £16,332 for Pancreatic Cancer UK, they’ve made a fantastic contribution to the charity.

Raising money for charity is a great thing to do, especially when you're a holiday park who has lots of money to spare

Big Announcement

Haven Holidays is one of the most well-known holiday park and resort companies in the UK, and every month brings a new story from this industry giant. This month, Haven’s Lakeland holiday park, in Flookburgh, have unveiled a major new investment.

One of the main elements of what makes a Haven Holiday is the community aspect, which provides families with the opportunity to meet similar families to bond with. To keep up this reputation, Cumbria’s Haven Holidays have unearthed plans for a multi-functional space, which is ideal for sports, events, live music, dancing and more, during both the day and night.

Luxury Pet Hotel

Pet hotels are becoming all the rage. With the staycation industry booming, families are looking for ways to spend time with their pets outside of home. The answer? Pet-friendly hotels!

K9 Resorts, in Mount Pleasant, Houston, have recently opened their luxury pet hotel, welcoming in 300 attendees at their grand opening. The event was partnered by an animal cruelty organisation, Charleston Animal Society, and the hotel itself has been fitted with all the mod-cons, as well as antimicrobial flooring.

Owned by Kim Tyron, a former veterinarian, she’ll make sure that all guest pets are treated with the utmost care. Check out our blog post from one of our adjoining shows, the Farm Business Innovation Show, to discover some of the best pet-friendly hotels out there. Take inspiration from the companies who have done it themselves, and perhaps you could join the pet hotel trend.
