£3M leisure complex in Newcastle gets green light

The Fun Shack Group is set to open a brand new £3 million children’s play centre and trampoline park in Newcastle, due to the athletic activity’s recent surge in popularity.

Led by Craig and Stuart Freeman, the family-owned company started 14 years ago and now owns some of the largest indoor playgrounds in Europe. The group comprises Fun Shack, Clip ‘N Climb and Jump 360, and the new 70,000 sq ft leisure complex is set to include all three.

The new centre will be built at an old warehouse on Benfield Business Park and will create 100 new jobs. If everything goes according to plan the centre will be ready to open its doors this Winter.

"We are thrilled to have been given the go ahead by Newcastle City Council and want to thank them for their support of the project,” said Freeman.

"We can't wait to welcome visitors along to enjoy all our exciting experiences under one roof – Fun Shack and Jump 360 are already very popular in the wider region and we know that families are going to be really excited about when they see what we have in store.”

"The Benfield site is the fourth of seven new Jump 360 parks that we have planned for the North East over the next two years and I am proud to be able to continue to contribute to creating a vibrant and thriving region for people to live and work.”
