Bmm Energy Solutions Ltd was formed in 2015 with the sole purpose to become the UK`s leading experts in Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure. The company was set up with three directors and one full time employee and within its first two months of trading we gained OLEV and NICIEC approval. The first installation took place within two months of set up, something the team as immensely proud about. Bmm now in its fourth year or trading as an EV installation only company has grown to three offices over twenty full time employees and has forty-five sub-contractors on our books.
To gain access to the largescale EV projects we highlighted the need to be on public sector frameworks and set out with this goal in 2016. Bmm Energy Solutions is now list on the ESPO 636_17 framework, the Energy Saving Trust Framework and the NHS Shared Business services Framework, a feat that we as a company are very proud of. BMM was now well positioned to tender for largescale EV infrastructure projects against large organizations and transnational corporations. Competing in this arena against much larger companies is both exciting and rewarding however it does take its toll on resources. Having successfully secure some large-scale national projects we set about growing our team and board whilst securing an investment partner.
In 2017 Burcote shared the same vision and ethos as the Directors of Bmm and invested capital to strengthen the board and management team along with employing direct labour Civils & Electrical engineers. Due to the investment we were able to secure David Mulford (ex-Technical Manager for EDF`s EV department) who brought a world of technical knowledge to the company and continues to this day to liaise with the manufacturers and OEMs on the regulations and safety requirements needed to ensure safe installation. David sits on the EV advisory panel within the IET. Another integral addition to the team was Ian Campbell. Ian is our Compliance manager who ensures our installations are fully in line with NICEIC, BS7671 and the IET code of practice for the installation of electric vehicle charging points. The team continues to grow month on month and we now support apprentices with an adult apprenticeship to help train those looking to be involved in the industry.
With a strong management and installation team Bmm now delivers fully managed installation across the entire UK with existing installation at 10 Downing Street, Transport for London, The Scottish Parliament, NHS trusts, Environments Agency England, Canterbury County Council, Wrexham Council, South Norfolk Council, Aberdeen Council, Falkirk Council, Edinburgh Council and Loughborough University to name a few of our clients. We not only set out to be the UKs leading EV installation company we have shown through our portfolio we can deliver on scale, nationally and to budget.
Due to our ability to mobilise quickly and offer a full turnkey installation from survey, appraisal, liaising with the DNO for new connections through to installation and maintenance we now work with the UK largest Network operators install their changepoints to grow their networks such as Chargeppoint Services Genie point network, Engenie and more recently the Swedish state-owned utility company Vattenfall. These network operators rely heavily on the services we supply and it`s a pleasure to see their networks growing at such a rapid pace.
We are always looking at way to streamline our services and recently purchased a stake in an ICP Company to support the large number of new DNO connections our clients are requiring. This allows us to not only control the process form end to end but cuts down on any unnecessary down time when dealing directly with a DNO.
As the policy makers set out cleaner brighter road maps for the future and car manufacturers make buying EVs more accessible to the masses. We see it as our job to ensure travelling the length and breadth of the country in an EV easier by ensuring reliable and robust charging stations for home owners, public and private sector infrastructure and our network operator partners.
