Competitive Socialising - The Growth Opportunity Everyone’s Talking About
About Andy Beresford & Helen Mills
Andy Beresford worked for several years in telecoms before co-founding Home Leisure Direct - an award-winning games room retailer - with his wife Michelle. Under his direction, the business has grown from a small startup to an employer of over 40 staff, operating across the UK. Andy has built strong relationships with domestic and foreign suppliers in a variety of fields, including pool, pinball and shuffleboard, and secured contracts with many manufacturers to create high-quality products exclusively for Home Leisure Direct.
After initially focusing on the home market, Andy has overseen the expansion of the business into the commercial sector, installing pool tables, shuffleboards and more into pubs and bars across the country. The creation of the world’s first contactless payment pool table has led to contracts with pub chains such as Mitchells & Butlers and Stonegate, revolutionising the way customers pay to play.
An introduction to the rapidly growing competitive socialising opportunity and the benefits it can bring to businesses, including longer dwell times, increased food and drink sales and the ability to reach new customers. Games such as contactless payment pool and shuffleboard can be added to premises on a profit share or rental basis for as little as £30 per week, offering significant returns averaging from £6,000 to £12,000 per annum per table.
