About Owen Gleadall

Owen has been involved in designing, developing and supplying retail management systems now for 35 years and admissions and ticketing systems for 24 years, so has a wealth of experience relevant to your business. His first experience came in the late 1970s in the Cash & Carry sector where he was involved in the implementation of laser bar-code scanning at the point of sale. This technology was applied to the retail sector in the early 1980s with some of the country’s leading stores, when the first conveyor style checkouts were produced with laser bar-code scanning. As this technology became more acceptable Owen then created similar systems for the smaller retailers using the newly released ‘PC’ based technology. It was 1995 when he first developed admissions and ticketing systems for visitor attractions, using the same bar-code technology. In 2002 he introduced the first Gift Aid systems on admissions for heritage properties.
